Why we charge for the design

Every retailer in New Zealand will design your kitchen for free, and every one of those designs is drawn around their cabinet range and ends in their quote. That is not dishonest; it is what a free design is for. But it means the plan is theirs, the prices are theirs, and you cannot take it anywhere.

We charge $595 for a measured plan you own: two layouts drawn to scale, a line-item budget with a source for every band, and a written scope you can hand to three companies and get comparable quotes. If you then build with us, the fee comes off the job in full.

How we choose partners

We do not employ trades. We contract them, and we apply the same test to each: the licence or registration is current on the public register, they carry their own insurance and give us the certificate, they will be named in the customer's contract, and they will hand over the compliance records for their work.

• The joinery workshop, which makes and fits the cabinetry.
• The designer, who runs the consult and draws the plans.
• An authorised plumber and a registered electrician.
• A Licensed Building Practitioner for anything structural.

We will name each of them here once contracts are signed. What each one is responsible for.

What we will not do

• We have no completed jobs to show, so there are no project photos and no gallery.
• We have no reviews, so there is no reviews block and no star rating anywhere on this site.
• We hold no plumbing, gasfitting, electrical or building licences. Those trades are subcontracted to people who do.
• Our package prices are not set: the pages show sourced market ranges until partner quotes exist.
• Take a build payment before our trades, insurance and contract are in place.
• Publish a statistic we cannot link to a source, or a rule we have not read at its origin.

Who you deal with

NZ Kitchen Renovations is the trading name you contract with, and the legal entity behind it is in the footer of every page and in every contract. Correspondence comes from the company, not from an invented sales persona, and the guides on this site are published by the company rather than under a made-up byline.
